Animals Reaching Kids

width: 200

ARK (Animals Reaching Kids) is a program designed to allow students of all ages to learn to handle animals. The basics of good training are applied: consistency, patience, positive reinforcement, reward and self-esteem gained by the ability to maintain an obedient partnership with the animal. Once students have become proficient in training the animals, they become volunteers who then train new students.

ARK Ministry

To reach the hearts of those in need of the unconditional love animals give, a picture of the ultimate love God has given us in sending His Son, Jesus.

ARK Method

Students learn to groom the animals, practice animal health maintenance and do basic clicker training. In clicker training, a target is used to focus the animal's attention. A treat is given when the animal touches the target. The clicker tells the animal the precise moment he has done the required task. This training allows the students to participate in our outdoor productions like the Living Nativity at Christmas.
